Internationally recognized and honored photographers Joe McNally and Moose Peterson brought their Photoshop World Workshop to Stallion 51 for a special seminar on photographing aviation subjects. Photoshop world offers more than 100 classes worldwide to professional and amateur photographers to learn new techniques and perfect their craft.
The late afternoon seminar gave over 50 photographers the perfect lighting to capture the perfect aviation subject matter, the legendary P-51, the sleek L-39 and the historic T-6 Texan at dusk. Instructors and students were impressed with both the airport and Stallion’s stable of planes.
The NAPP shooters blogs and websites were buzzing with feedback about their experience.
“Stallion 51 was a treat. The hanger was pristine, the planes were all in immaculate shape and the staff was super.”
“Stallion 51 is a remarkable repository of historically significant aircraft, and the way the staff takes you through the place, and talks reverently of the planes, you can tell this is a labor of love. Folks come to be trained on them, understand the mechanics, or just take a ride and check something off the bucket list.”
“Joe McNally took over the entire flight hangar and began to work his lighting wonders on three P51′s. Once you start breaking out the ladders to orchestrate the placement of over 13 lights, you know you are in the Joe’s land of lighting miracles.”
“Moose had his sights set on those warbirds outside the hanger as the light headed towards the horizon. He was seen crawling on the tarmac, with several of us, giving us pointers on how to give these static planes the feeling of flight.”
